With the happenings in Egypt many have missed the other revolution going on in Europe. Recently the Prime Minister of the UK, David Cameron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, issued there own revolution against radical Islam and the failed policies of multiculturalism run amok in Europe.
I know something of multiculturalism having taught 6th grade world cultures for 7 years now. I personally love studying cultures and exposing my students to the variety and richness of the different and varied cultures around the world. This; however, is not what they are talking about. What they are talking about is the idea that every culture is equal and right. This is pure hogwash. While I loved reading about head hunters in Papau New Guinea I would not teach my students that such cultures should be considered as just and equal with Judeo-Christianity which helped end slavery, advance scientific discoveries and enriched the entire world. Both cultures are unique and are worthy of studying, but it is pure idiocracy to say they are equal.
How can we know which is better? Simple, look at the immigration patterns, they show clearly which cultures people believe are right and just. Speaking of immigration, the mass exodus of Muslims from the Middle East to Western Nations says volumes about the attractiveness of Shariah Law. So it is with a level of consternation that many immigrants bring with them a desire for a new life, while their children often try to resurrect the world and oppression from which their parents fled.
Prime Minister David Cameron added: ” ‘We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values.
‘So when a white person holds objectionable views – racism, for example – we rightly condemn them.
‘But when equally unacceptable views or practices have come from someone who isn’t white, we’ve been too cautious, frankly even fearful, to stand up to them.’ ”
Preach it Prime Minister! We have got to stop carrying around white man guilt and be honest with ourselves, our country and those who wish to become part of our democracy. Racism is wrong. Its wrong what white people did to Africans. Apartheid, segregation, slavery are and were wrong. However, its also wrong what Arabs are doing to blacks in Sudan and North Africa. What Muslims do to religious minorities throughout the Islamic world. And honestly, I am becoming more than a little suspicious about the motives of many who move to our country, enjoy our freedoms while they seek to undermine our democracy and advance their religion by any means (deceit and lying or “taqiyya” as it is called in Arabic).
As Prime Minister David Cameron said we have to have core values (freedom of speech, religion, equality for women, democracy, etc…) that people embrace when they immigrate to our great countries. We must be careful to give the average Muslim a clear choice. Embrace Western values that can compliment their religion or get out of our countries. We have no legal or moral obligation to assimilate people that don’t want to assimilate. While as a Christian I would love for Muslims to meet Jesus, as an American I respect every Americans peaceful practice of their religion. But when the practice of radical Islam encourages violence, discord and animinity it is cancerous and must be excised.
Having taught and/or befriended many Muslims in Arlington and around the world I have a love for them and their culture. So I want to be clear that America’s (and Europe’s) war is not with the average Muslim but we are at war with the ideology (inspired by the devil) that embraces death and seeks to achieve this through terror, lies, intimidation and legal machinations. The extremists use the liberties that they never earned to expand their kingdom / house of Islam (Dar el Islam) over the whole earth. “World Wide Conquest is our Goal” is the tagline that graced many radical Islamic newspapers before 9/11. If we are not careful and continue in our naivete, radical Muslims will use our freedoms against us until we are slaves.
My brother was concerned that if we come down too hard on radical Islam then the same laws would eventually be used on other religions (including Christianity). While his point bares consideration, I’m more concerned about worldwide Islamic domination/intimidation then I am about secular states developing into tyrannies (something true democracies have a hard time doing). True if Christians start behaving like terrorists then they should be silenced/arrested/removed. I for one can, fully practice my faith without threatening, intimidating, and killing others. If Muslims can’t do this then we should send them back to a land that embraces such Legalism. Somalia has lots of open space.
I believe given a clear choice and a strong stance by Western nations most Muslims will rise up and remove the radicalism from their midst. We need to develop a spine and welcome those who come and embrace our values. Those who don’t embrace our core values have no place in this land of the free, home of the brave.
