Philip's New
Blog: I am no longer updating this site. Instead all new entries
are now being posted directly to my blog. The blog is now officially
at www.philipfiles.com. This site will remain as an archive of previous
articles and photos for the time being until I have a chance to
migrate them or decide to unpost them. (August 10, 2005)
There is no
limit ... : My shortest article in quite some time. It is also
one of the best, but that is because of the subjects not the writer.
(March 27, 2005)
Parameters
of Purpose: This article was submitted in an international essay
contest. I didn't win the contest (or place), but I think the essay
is darn good just the same. It is longer than most of my columns
but is worth the read. (March 27, 2005)
Photo
galleries (a new window will take you to another site): Brand
new photos of the pfam that will now be updated regularly by Tamara.
Phil has been fired from the photo job. Unfortunately, this now
means he's more apt to write. (March 19, 2005)
Truth Be Told (TBP): I'm putting the headline here
to remind me to write this article.
In the Thick of Things (TBP): Upcoming article regarding
the current situation in the world (especially Iraq) and some selling
points for the Bush Administration.
Belonging (TBP): What is it about the longing to
be part of something bigger than one's self?
OLDIES BUT GOODIES
Two Roads
Diverged: We stand at a fork in the road. The path we chose
regarding a possible war in Iraq will lead to a time of world peace
or disaster. The problem is no person knows which way is which.
But do not despair, there is a way we can cheat (published March
9, 2003).
An Inductive
Study of Truth: This study contains a series of articles that
I wrote and/or referenced during a series I taught at a college
Sunday School class this past December. This series is an inductive
study into the nature, meaning and importance of Truth. This series
was designed for anyone (Christian, Non-Christian, Agnostic, Skeptic,
etc...) that wants to know the truth. I plan on expanding the section
to include feedback, articles from other faiths, etc... (published
Jan 2003)
If B, then C? - Sounds like
Universalism but it aint, so put away those burning pyres. This
is a rough draft of what I am thinking - any feedback or obvious
logical holes are welcome - if you are looking for polished perfection
(like most of my other articles :>) then don't read this article
(published Jan 2003).
Principles Versus Plot
- Do cheaters ever win? It seems from the way many Christians act
we believe God is a cheater (published Jan 2003).
WAJ: A film I
produced at Regent is now finished and has its own site where you
can get to know the crew (and hire them) and order a tape.
*****
This web site is my contribution to the glut of useless knowledge
and uneducated opinions on the Internet. As this site will attest,
I am a very generous person.
The reason I am so generous with my opinions is because I find
them very interesting and persuasive.
Which is a good thing, and helps me to transition to a useful
piece of advice I once received. "Enjoy what you do, for you
may be the only one who does [enjoy what you do]." So its a
good thing I enjoy this web site and my writings so much. For my
whole "Phil"osophy behind my writings and this site click
here.
With that said I invite and welcome any feedback. Not that I will
get any but I feel obliged to put that on my front page. In fact
the only feedback I will receive (judging from past experience)
will come from those who are upset by an article of mine. Which
puts me in a dilemma. Do I want feedback? And if I do, does that
mean I write things that will purposefully upset people? "Phil"osophy
Not that I should worry. I'm sure that if you read enough of my
writings something will either make you think or get you upset.
Hopefully a little bit of both. And then you can write me back and
return the favor.
