Don't Read this Page!

Why you should NOT read this page is simple. It's boring.

But has such a "problem" ever stopped me?

My students would say no. And they'd be right, to which I would reply "is boring so bad?" But that's another article all together.

Some writers say that they have to write. Not me. In fact I find writing tedious at times. In fact English has always been my baddest... I mean worse... I've never been real well... good at English. No, my motivation is to communicate ideas and truths that I find important, and to communicate these notions as effectively as possible.

This approach has made me into a pragmatist, as far as writing goes. Many writers won't publish their works until they are perfect and a number of writers have destroyed their own writing because it was inperfect. That's not me, I mean check out this website. It is anything but perfect, but I don't care - at least its published. I can fix the obvious problems later. Something partly done and published is better than something perfect and shelved.

I mean some writers wouldn't even let other people look at their work until they are done. Me? My site is available around the world and I haven't even finished this article.

In case you want to know some of the things I will be writing about. Here are some notes.

Honesty - One thing unique about my writing. I use myself as a model to illustrate points, make fun of and narrate. This may seem egocentric, and if so that is not my intention. The reason I use myself so often is more out of a desire to communicate truth while not offending people. If I say YOU have a problem with pride, you may not receive this well. If I say I have a problem with pride, then hopefully you might realize that you too have a problem. Or you can just laugh and point at me. Either way, no one is hurt.

Objectivity - Don't have it. Admit it. No one can be 100% objective. Its impossible. People that say they are (the media) are probably some of the least objective people on earth. The best solution is to clearly state your point of view (moral conservative) so that the reader can take your perspective into account while reading. Or at least that is my opinion at the present time.

Level Playing Field - A thought that I have mulled over for years is the idea that "On a level playing field the truth will always win." Now, I believe that that Truth is Jesus Christ and that He is the Son of God and that through His death and Resurrection anyone that believes and calls upon Him will be saved. But I may be wrong. And that is why I am open to hearing, listening and reading other points of view. All I ask is that those whom I talk to would make a similiar consesion: that their beliefs may be wrong.

The simple fact is that there is only one absolute answer. The hard part is no one will know that for a fact until they die, and by then its too late. So in this life we must use our head, heart, and the heads of others to discern what is true and what is false. This is why I feel it is important to share my opinions (which may be wrong - in fact I will guarantee that some of them are, I just don't know it yet) and listen to the opinion and belief of others.

In the end, honest men and women should desire to know the Truth, and in order to do that they must ask honest questions and be open to the Truth even if it makes life harder or more difficult for them. If a man seeks the truth, he will find it when he seeks with all his heart.

Such a search for Truth, should be something that all honest men and women (no matter what their religion at birth is) can help each other with if they remain open, honest and mature. And once one finds that Truth, they should do their best to share it with others in an open, honest and mature way. If you disagree let me know, I'd be happy to hear your point of view.
